In its own way this is about food...
About 10 years ago, my best friend, screenwriter Deb Stenard, sent me a box of gorgeous Meyer lemons from the tree in her yard in L.A. After using a number of the lemons in recipes, I still had a few left.
And I had, to quote Haley Mills, "a scathingly brilliant idea..."
I decided to attempt to grow a lemon tree from the seeds in the remaining lemons. And lo and behold: after 10 years of care and worry... there appear to be flower buds for the first time...
