Thai Sliders (Yes. Really.)

I stumbled across some Thai recipes the other day.

Some of them were for meatballs.

This intrigued me.

But then I thought:  What about small burgers with a Thai flavor profile?

Hmmmmmmm...

So I took about 3/4 lb. ground beef (yes, it probably should have been pork....), added minced garlic, ginger, cayenne paste (sriracha would be fine), fish sauce, lime zest, minced mint and thai basil, and some minced scallions (white part).

Oh!  And I had about a teaspoon of peanut butter left in a jar, so that went in as well.  (I should have added salt.  I didn't.  It was fine, but next time I will.)

I formed this mixture into 6 balls, flattened them into patties, and cooked them in a bit of oil in a nonstick skillet.  While they were cooking, I "doctored " some mayo by adding minced Thai basil, and mint, some sriracha, lime juice, and the green parts of the aforementioned scallions.

I served the sliders, as is my wont, on undressed greens from the garden.

I'm generally a fan of very straightforward burgers, but these were so much fun they made us giggle.

Try them!  Giggle!
