My New L.A. Hangout: barbrix!

After an exhausting few days cooking in LA...

(My annual trip to "Do Christmas" for a major Hollywood A-list couple... and no, I can't tell you who...  I'm not North Korean!!!)

...My best friend took us out for a celebratory dinner.  We went to a restaurant none of us had tried before:  barbrix...  And out of the blue, we experienced one of the great restaurant meals/events of our lives!

Virtually perfect food...  And our server, Regan, exemplified all that's best in that noble profession (She knew the menu inside out...  talked to us enough to know where to steer us, but not so much that we felt pressured to be best friends... A true gem!).

We had a tapas-style meal:  an assortment of charcuterie called "Hams of the World" featuring prosciutto, jambon, serrano and speck...

There were cheeses we hadn't known before, with dried figs and Marcona almonds...

Spectacular crispy Brussels sprouts with ricotta salata...

Delectable boquerones, Spanish green olives with smoked paprika, absolutely perfect roast chicken with leek cream and red potatoes... and more.  And more.

Just amazing.  Whenever you hit L.A....  barbrix is a must!!!
