It's January...
But...
One of the great things about having a garden, and taking the time in the summer to make tons of "pesto concentrate" for the freezer, arrives on that awful, frigid day in January when you want to pretend, just for a night, that it's August, and green things are growing everywhere.
Thaw some of the "concentrate," pound some nuts (pine, pecan, walnut, almond, Your Favorite) and garlic... Grate some Parmesan... Cook some homemade fettucine...
Thin the pesto with a little pasta water...
And it's a summertime party!
