As I'm sure you all know... I'm thrifty...
Let's be honest...
Cheap.
So throwing things out is something I try not to do whenever possible. Here's a perfect example...
I buy the 365 brand peanut butter at Whole Foods. It's one of the few things there that's cheaper than other stores... and really good: no salt, no sugar... just peanuts.

Since it's "natural," the oil separarates. Now, I like my peanut butter a little drier than most people do, so instead of mixing the oil back in, I pour most of it off.
BUT... I make a lot of Asian-inspired dishes, so I keep the peanut oil from the peanut butter and use it in those dishes. I store it in the fridge until I need it. It adds flavor, and has a high smoke point...
And I consider it "free."
That's a 2-for-1 I can happily live with.
